Musings from the Laundromat: Eyeball edition.
My right eye is still asleep. Not sure how that’s possible, but it’s managed to accomplish it.
Laundromat has an odd atmosphere today. Even Laundry Lady concurred with that. She’s half asleep too, but I’m pretty sure both her eyes are working.
Glaucoma Man isn’t even chatty.
Him: Anything new?
Me: Not really.
Him: Same stuff just older huh?
Then he walked off to the vending machine. Very unlike him. I should have mentioned I only have one functional eyeball – that’s something new.

More people have descended upon the ‘mat now – the room is abuzz with various machine sounds and an assortment of patrons. The radio is now on and being drowned out. That, or one of my ears is sleeping too.
Chatter from the front of the room – and Glaucoma Man is folding his wash. He never has much. Just a tiny red mesh containers worth.
And he never says goodbye.
Just hurries out with his red bag in tow.
I wonder what he does after he leaves? Does he just sit in his trailer and watch TV?
No secret what I do.
I have the social life of a corpse.
I’ll put the laundry away … Walk my dog around the yard. Tidy the house then spend too much time with my dear friend Netflix.
Hopefully I can do that with just the one eye.
Musings from the Laundromat: Fathers and Felons edition
First of all, Happy Father’s Day to all the great dad’s out there. And Happy Father’s Day also to all you moms that have done it alone. I’m raising an imaginary glass of champagne at the screen and cheering you all.
I’m sure the dad’s are thinking, “Great. Couldn’t you be raising an imaginary beer or single malt?”
No.
Onto felons.
(My segues are ingenious, she says sarcastically while moving the imaginary glass of champagne out of the way so it’s not knocked over by her writing prowess.)
Yesterday was a pajama day for me. Just me, the dog and Litchfield Penitentiary.

Well, almost. I have 3 episodes to go.
I’m definitely enjoying Season 4 over Season 3. No spoilers. I’ll review the show when you’ve all had a change to binge watch.
So after today’s Fathers Day brunch across the river, I’ll be returning to my Netflix nest and finishing up those remaining episodes … Then I’ll feel guilty about not having scrubbed the house – then either a) get over it or b) actually scrub the house. I’m thinking maybe a little of both.
Time to check on the machines … And drink my weekly cup of coffee (I still haven’t had the heart to tell the laundry lady I don’t drink it anymore. But since she’s so sweet to make it just for me – I must courteously caffeine.)
Once again, happy Father’s Day Soupers!!!
Too hot and work and stuff
Even though it was a ‘short’ week at work, it felt loooooong.
We’ve added another family member at work and I’m so excited for her!
I’ve come to know that my services encompass the following: Accountant, Quarterly tax preparer, receptionist, social media delegate, compliance assistant, keeper of all that is important, Website creator (from scratch) graphic artist, promoter, supply provider, janitor, creator of logo, creator of business system, excel formula, Social Media updater …. God and … Eater of all that is left over.
LOL!
I think I deserve that left over food 😉
I took this photo at 5 minutes to 5 because the (1) lighting was good
(2) I had cleared my inboxes and was watching the clock because it’s Friday – I’m not going to lie. Lol.

Thing is – I’m happy every day at work.
No joke.
No sucking up.
I am SO lucky to have an environment I can say “What the F$&# ” out loud when I have a problem on my computer.
We are not retail, I don’t have to edit myself when we are alone.
We ARE on our best behavior when customers are in the house.
I have made life long friends at work. Well, when you spend many years with a specific people – that’s either bound to happen, or not.
Luckily for me – it happened.

So now I’m home.
And my pup is happy about it.
And! AND! I tried to save my roses and they seem semi-saved

Gawd bless them – they’re tryin’!
Tomorrow – a pedicure with my mum and I get to spend some Kohls cash – and as much as I want a dress … I’m thinking Sun Blocking Curtains to help the electric bill.
It’s bonkers now, I can’t even imagine August!

Peace out Soupers – and I hope YOU are staying cool.
